“I’m going to Disney World!”
This exclamation made by Super Bowl champs after the biggest NFL game of the season is not only expected after decades of tradition, but has become a promise kept. Often a day or so after winning the Vince Lombardi Trophy, players will show up at a Disney Park (Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., or Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif.) and take part in a celebratory parade with Mickey Mouse and his friends.
The trend began in 1987, when New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms became the first to shout the now-iconic phrase — and earned a reported $50,000 for doing so, according to ESPN. After leading his team to victory over the Denver Broncos, Simms appeared in Disney’s “What’s Next?” campaign and celebrated with his family during an all-day experience at Magic Kingdom. Since then, it’s become a beloved staple of Super Bowl lore, combining the excitement of a championship win with the magic of Disney.
Check out some of the most accomplished quarterbacks in football (Patrick Mahomes! Tom Brady! Drew Brees!) enjoying their Main Street, USA moments at Disney World and Disneyland over the years.

After the Kansas City Chiefs’ second consecutive Super Bowl win in 2024 — this time over the San Francisco 49ers, with a score of 25-22 — Mahomes headed from Las Vegas to Anaheim, Calif., to hang with Mickey Mouse at Disneyland.
After leading the Chiefs to win Super Bowl LVII against the Philadelphia Eagles (38-25) in 2023 — and being named MVP — Mahomes was joined at Disneyland by his own MVPs: wife Brittany Mahomes, daughter Sterling Skye and son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon. The couple welcomed a third child, daughter Golden Raye, in January 2025.

Following the Los Angeles Rams’ win against the Cincinnati Bengals (23-20) in Super Bowl LVI in 2022, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford led the victory celebration during a parade at Disneyland alongside Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp.
Mahomes was the center of attention following the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LIV win against the San Francisco 49ers (31-20), celebrating during his victory parade at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in February 2020.
After winning Super Bowl LIII against the Los Angeles Rams (13-3), then-New England Patriots quarterback Brady celebrated alongside his teammate, MVP Julian Edelman, at Walt Disney World in February 2019. Both players have since retired, with Brady finishing his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before officially hanging up his helmet in 2023.
When Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and Super Bowl LII MVP Nick Foles visited Walt Disney World to celebrate his team’s 41-33 win over the New England Patriots in February 2018, he brought two special guests: wife Tori Foles and their daughter, Lily James.
Foles — who later welcomed son Duke Nathan with Tori in 2020 — announced his retirement from the NFL in 2024.
Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning took his twins, daughter Mosley Thompson and son Marshall Williams, along for the ride at Disneyland in 2016 after his Super Bowl 50 win over the Carolina Panthers (24-10). The family affair was made even more special as they rode a parade float at the Anaheim, Calif., park.
Manning retired after the victory and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021.
In 2013, then-Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco was followed by confetti during his victory parade at Walt Disney World after winning Super Bowl XLVII against the San Francisco 49ers (34-31).
In 2012, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning gave his Super Bowl XLVI victory celebration with Mickey Mouse a big thumbs-up during a parade at Walt Disney World. Like his brother Peyton, Manning — who was MVP that year after the Giants’ 21-17 win over the New England Patriots — has since retired from the sport, officially announcing his retirement in 2020.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers celebrated the Green Bay Packers’ Super Bowl XLV win over the Pittsburgh Steelers (31-25) with Mickey Mouse at Walt Disney World in February 2011.
After Super Bowl XLIV in 2010, during which the New Orleans Saints emerged victorious over the Indianapolis Colts (31-17), Saints quarterback Brees took a ride down Walt Disney World’s Main Street with Mickey Mouse and Goofy. Eleven years later, he announced his retirement after 20 years in the NFL.
